Samangi Hewage

Project Manager, 3R

Samangi is the project manager for the 3R initiative at LIRNEasia. At present, she works with the Gampaha Municipal Council in Sri Lanka, and other committed individuals and organizations in the area, to build a network of stakeholders who are able to inform and educate the public, and to implement 3R through that network.

She holds a Bachelors degree in Forestry and Environmental Science from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She is also reading for her Ph.D. in Botany at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Until October, 2007, she will be dividing her time between her work at LIRNEasia and her appointment as a Research Assistant at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura which she has held for nearly three years.
