Abu is a researcher on LIRNEasia’s project which investigates the replicability of GrameenPhone’s approach to extending rural connectivity through the use of micro-finance in Bangladesh
Abu, a freelance journalist on telecoms and IT is the Technology Editor of bdnews24.com. He is also a Consultant in Advanced Data Networks System Ltd. (ADNSL), a nationwide connectivity provider in Bangladesh which offers customized applications for transmission and last mile using wireless and satellite solutions to bridge the digital divide. Earlier he was a Consultant in PRISM, a CIDA-funded private sector capacity building project, implemented in Bangladesh by Tecsult International of Montreal. Abu worked as a Research Analyst with EMC World Cellular Database. He analyzed the mobile markets of Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. Prior to that he worked in the legal department of Occidental Oil and Gas, as Contracts Administrator. He had been a faculty in regional regulatory training courses offered by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) between 2001 and 2004
Abu has a BA in Bengali language and literature from Titumir College, Dhaka in 1986
