Sithie Tiruchelvam

Sithie Tiruchelvam is a Lawyer of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, specializing in corporate law, intellectual property law and labour law and a notable human rights campaigner. She is a founding and managing partner of Tiruchelvam Associates which she co-founded in 1982. Tiruchelvam obtained her LLB from the University of Ceylon in 1966, and was admitted to the Supreme Court as Advocate in 1968. She has also completed a programme on Corporate Philanthropy at the Rockefeller Foundation Programme for Philanthropy in New York, USA. She is a board member of the Nadesan Centre for Human Rights, the Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust, John Keells Holdings Ltd and alternate Director at Galadari Hotels Lanka (Pvt) Ltd in Sri Lanka and a bureau member of the South Asians for Human Rights. She holds the office of interim chairperson of the Foundations for Peace (FFP) Network, a newly established worldwide network of community foundations working on peace and reconciliation among communities.
